Aleksandr Cherepov, b. February 03, 19
Originally trained in his Russian homeland at the College of Printing in Moscow 1988-1992 and Soyztelefilm 1989-1990, Aleksandr came to the United States in March, 1998 to work as an illustrator.
Always a painter, he began developing a distinctive style in landscapes painted in oil on canvas. Known for vivid yet natural colors and appealing textures delivered with knife and brush, Cherepov's work has a liquid, impressionistic quality.
Using dramatic balance of light and shadow and an intituitive, unique blend of colors, Cherepov's paintings reflect a versatality unusual in the art world.
